This post brought to you by The Orkin Ecologist. All opinions are 100% mine.

So, I'm just going to come right out and say it… I'm scared of bugs.

When it comes to ants, spiders, flies or really any creepy crawler in general, the further away I can be from them, the better.

But you know what? According to an article about the scariest and deadliest bugs in the world that I just read - I'm totally justfied in my fear of bugs!

Yes, it's true that most of the countless types of bugs out there are pretty harmless, but there are plenty of bugs and insects that are pretty scary and in some cases, even deadly.

My greatest enemy, when it comes to bugs and insects, are spiders. I recently had a #BugOut moment when I came across a HUMONGOUS black spider while cleaning out my closet. The worst part is that there was noone around to kill it for me.

Now maybe I'm overly cautious or just paranoid, but I'm convinced that every spider I come across is harmful or poisonous. In fact, the Orkin article about the scariest and deadliest bugs even states that North America is home to the brown recluse spider and the black widow spider. See what I mean?

Back to my #BugOut story - I managed to gather up all the courage I had inside of me (after a lenghy pep talk) and I took care of that spider on my own. I'll spare you the details, but it may or may not have involved a can of dry shampoo and a slipper.

What about you? Do you have a #BugOut moment of your own? Leave me a comment or post it on Facebook or Twitter (make sure you use the #BugOut hashtag).

And be sure to check out that article I mentioned! In fact, check out the Orkin Ecologist website - it's an awesome education resource for science lovers. You can follow Orkin on Facebook or on Pinterest to keep up with all the latest updates too.

Oh my gosh, what kind of spider is that pictured?! Looks like it’s seriously poisonous! If not, it is still horrifically scary!
