GlobalGiving is a charity fundraising web site that gives social entrepreneurs and non-profits from anywhere in the world a chance to raise the money that they need to improve their communities. Since 2002, GlobalGiving has raised $61,770,981 from 252,231 donors who have supported 5,299 projects.

I received a $50 Global Giving gift card recently that can be used to make a donation on their website and want YOUR help in choosing the charity that should receive the donation.

You will see 3 non-profits listed below. Leave a comment with the number of the non-profit that you would like to see receive the $50 donation. I will close voting on March 16th and make the donation the following day.

1. KIDS - Clothing, toys & books for children in need
Over the past 26 years, K.I.D.S. has provided 70 million kids in need with over $1 billion worth of new clothing, toys, books and baby products. Our goal is to continue to increase the number of kids we help. K.I.D.S. receives product donations from generous manufacturers and retailers and then distributes them through a network of nearly 1,000 local community social service agencies in the U.S. and abroad. For every $10 donation, we distribute $100+ of new products to kids in need.

2. Springville School Outdoor School Trip
We want to send 93 5th graders from Springville School to Outdoor School. While they learn science hands-on in nature, they will build their own communities and discover their own voices as a team.

3. CONFRONTING HUNGER, HOMELESSNESS AND POVERTY
The River Fund New York fights hunger and poverty by distributing FREE groceries and produce in food-insufficient communities. Each $1.00 donated yields $20.00 worth of product to the families we serve. Through Emergency Food Assistance, Hunger Relief, Nutritional Education, Income Support and a wide range of outreach services, the organization supports children, seniors, expecting mothers and other needy groups from dozens of city communities-going way beyond their need for food support.

If you would like to make your own donation, check out GlobalGiving for a full list of worthy non-profits and projects. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you so much for your help!
