Thoughts On American Idol + A Giveaway

Did you watch American Idol tonight? I thought it was a pretty good episode despite the fact that I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about the new judges – Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. I know the producers are playing up the “Mariah Carey vs. Nicki Minaj” feud as much as possible, but I’d rather just watch some crazy auditions. How about you?

In spite of all the fighting, I really enjoyed tonight’s episode. The contestant that stood out the most for me was Ashley Smith a.k.a. Blondie, the chatty girl who surprised the judges (and everyone else) with Carrie Underwood’s Cowboy Casanova. I loved her voice and audition so much that I’m almost able to overlook her odd lipstick choice. Almost.

Candice Glover also gave an amazing audition and I can definitely see how she gets compared to Joshua Ledet (who I feel should’ve won last season). I can’t wait to hear more from her!
