Oh My Gosh Beck!

As I stated in How NOT to Kill a StumbleUpon Post – reviewing a post when you discover it is VERY IMPORTANT. If you discover a post without adding a short review, chances are that post won’t even make it into the StumbleUpon queue.

I already went over how to discover and review a post in my previous post which you can read here, but I wanted to share a little shortcut that I use when reviewing posts that I’m submitting to StumbleUpon. If you use this shortcut, you can review a StumbleUpon post in 2 seconds flat.

1. Here’s a post that I want to discover in StumbleUpon. Please note that I’m using Firefox for this tutorial.

2. BEFORE I hit the thumbs-up button on my StumbleUpon toolbar, I’m going to highlight the subtitle of this post that says, “Recipes, tips and tools for the best brunch”. You can highlight any portion of the post though – title, a key phrase, etc. The highlighted portion appears in blue below.

3. Now that I’ve got my phrase highlighted I can hit the thumbs-up button, which will bring me to the Discover pop-up window. Notice that the text that I highlighted in the post is already in the Review box. It begins with “From the page:”

4. Fill in the other (equally important fields) like your topic and add in any additional tags. I removed the “From the page:” portion (this is the part that takes a whole 2 seconds to move my mouse and hit delete) and just left the subtitle in place.

5. The last part is to click on “Add Review” and you’re done!
